Simple Port Forwarding is a program that allows to configure the ports of the router. The application has a database with the port numbers used by the most well-known programs, and it allows to open those ports easily, without the need of knowledge of networks. The first thing to do is to identify the router in a list that is deployed, which is updated with the latest routers.
P2P clients such as Emule or Bitorrent-based client programs may not be able to connect because the router keeps the ports that these clients use closed. This application is responsible for opening the ports and also for automatically opening the ports in the Windows Firewall, whereas if another firewall is used, applications should be authorized every time the program warns you.
In case of having dynamic IP, Simple Port Forwarding can turn it into static, and in charge of changing the DNS servers by OpenDNS.
This application has an extensive database of makes and models of routers, and also of applications with the respective ports that each of them uses.
Simple Port Forwarding 3.7 is the latest version, updated in January 2013, of this software that can be downloaded for free. It is compatible with all versions of Windows, including Windows 8. It is available in several languages including Spanish and Catalan.
