Mumble is a communication program that supports voice chat, primarily aimed at users of online games, but can be used for any other purpose. This is the client application, while the application to install server side is called Murmur.
We have already presented similar software, such as TeamSpeak or Ventrilo, but with Mumble it is possible to achieve better sound quality in communication, lower latency, elimination of echo and volume normalization in a conference call. In addition, it achieves a lower consumption of bandwidth. Another program recommended is RaidCall, which, in addition to consuming little bandwidth, allows you to create private rooms for communication between users.
Mumble allows you to integrate with a lot of well-known games, such as World of Warcraft (WoW) or Call of Duty, among others. The complete list can be seen on the next page.
There are some services that offer free Mumble servers, some of which allow up to 50 slots.
Mumble 1.2.6 is the latest version of this VOIP program that runs on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. You can download it for free.
