InSSIDer is a program used to search and access Wi-Fi networks, being an alternative to programs such as NetStumbler, with the advantage that supports Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8 and 10 (32 and 64-bit), plus Mac OS X and Android mobile platform.
InSSIDer lists the results with the networks found, with the possibility to sort them by: Mac address, SSID, channel used, RSSI, security level, speed, and by the date they were last found.
The application analyzes the intensity of each signal found and displays the results graphically. It also indicates whether the Wi-Fi networks found are open or password protected, and in that case if they use the WAP or WEP encryption protocols.
Based on the data obtained from the scanned networks and the graphs presented, it is decided which one of the access points to choose, prioritizing the one that is in the less busy channel, and which has a better transmission speed.
InSSIDer has support for GPS devices , being compatible with most. The combination of data from WiFi networks and GPS signals can be exported to KML format to be viewed on maps in the Google Earth application .
InSSIDer 2 (2.1.6) is the previous version, recommended for Windows XP and to install on netbooks.
Inssider 4 (HOME Version) is the latest version available for Windows Vista, 7 and 8.
The second link also has editions for Android and Mac OS X.
