HyperCam is a program that allows you to capture what you see on the screen and save it to video (AVI format). Using microphone, you can record voice and sound to accompany the pictures.
Besides sound you can add text to videos, so this application is very useful for presentations or tutorials. It also serves to record the development of a game or any other activity carried out on the PC.
There are several options to configure, such as whether to capture full-screen or just a window or region of the same; Whether or not the cursor movement is displayed; If the sound is recorded or silent, in addition to other possible settings.
The application allows to select the type of compression and the rate of frames to determine the quality of the video that is obtained.
HyperCam 2.29.01 is the last update (June 2014) of this version now released for both personal and commercial use, which can be installed on Windows. From this version no longer inserts the watermark with the text "Unregistered Hypercam" on the recordings.
The application correctly fulfills its capture function, being a good alternative to Camtasia to take into account, although it does not include advanced video editing tools like those that can be found in that other capture software (which is not free).
There is another version (HyperCam 3.50) that offers more features: record Skype calls (audio and video), edit captured videos, and other functions. That edition does require a license for its use.
