Cobian Backup is a program that allows organizing and automating backups to backup files.
Cobian Backup allows you to determine how long the backups will be performed (daily, weekly, etc.). The process runs in the background consuming few resources and only re-copies those files that have been modified since the last backup.
To save space, files are compressed (it supports ZIP and several more compression methods) and uses encryption to protect data, and can only be accessed by password. Encryption is optional, and has several different strong encryption methods: AES (128, 192 and 256 bits), RSA-Rijndael (1024-256-bits), Blowfish (128-bits), Rijndael DES (64-bit).
The backups (backups) are stored on another disk, another PC in a network, a USB or USB flash drive memory, or on the same hard drive (although not the best thing because if it breaks backups are lost). As an alternative to the methods discussed, it is now also possible to send the data via FTP to a remote server.
Cobian Backup is an effective and advisable tool, which prevents the user from having to do manual backups that usually lead to duplicate files, or not having the constancy of doing it habitually and thus be left with outdated backups.
Cobian Backup 11 (188.8.131.522) is the latest version, updated in December 2012, of this software for backups that can be downloaded for free. It is available for Windows 7, Vista, XP and 2003, in Spanish.
