DraftSight is a vector graphic design program in Spanish that allows you to view and edit AutoCAD DWG files in 2D, and also work with some 3D elements (such as meshes). It is able to open DXF files (format used to convert and migrate DWG projects to other CAD applications) and DWT.
This CAD application (Computer Aided Design) has tools similar to AutoCAD Lite: it allows to work with layers, includes a drawing environment (with support for polylines, polygons, circles and other figures), works with a coordinate system of 3 axes, allows to apply dimensions, etc. It has several functions: chamfer, fillet and trim, among others.
This product has the advantage of being faster and lighter than Autodesk software, it is very stable and is also free; So it is a good alternative to AutoCAD for students, draughtsmen, architects, engineers or designers who want to start modeling CAD projects without paying a license.
Its interface is also quite similar: it has several toolbars, menus, palettes, command window, a drawing area, tabbed tabs and other common elements in CAD programs.
On the official site there is a Documentation Center that contains several resources to learn how to use DraftSight: Videos, tutorials, tips, tricks, etc. Within the category of videos there are several examples available, and in addition there are complete manuals in PDF, for example, a start guide .
DraftSight 2015 SP3 is the latest version, available for Windows (32 and 64 bit systems) in Spanish. Requires a license that can be obtained for free at the official site.
