Dev-C++ is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) for the C and C++ programming language. Has an editor (which supports autocomplete, syntax highlighted with different colors, etc.) a debugger code (Debugger) a compiler (GCC 4.9.2 TDM-use but can be integrated with other compilers) and has the ability to create Executables (.EXE) for Windows and DLLs.
This IDE also has a class explorer and a project manager. It has a set of libraries to use within any project.
This C++ compiler is simple, easy to use and free, ideal to start programming, which is why they recommend it in schools. When starting a new project, templates are available that are useful when you are not familiar with the language syntax.
The development of this project had been abandoned for a while, but has recently been resumed, and now known as Orwell Dev-C++. Performance and stability have been improved, and possibly the bugs that we discussed in the following paragraphs (which correspond to the previous project version) have been corrected and have been repaired. We await your comments in case you try the new application.
The application has incorporated some details that at first seem not to be so important, but can help a programmer without much experience, for example, when you try to run a project that is not yet compiled, the user is warned and You are encouraged to compile it.
Dev-C++ now works correctly on Windows 10 and earlier editions, thanks to the compiler update, since the previous one (Mingw) was incompatible with the latest versions of the Microsoft operating system.
Dev-C++ 5.11 is the latest version, updated in November 2016, which is available in Spanish and can be downloaded for free.
