If you are one of those who when you look at picking a window seat this idea will please you, especially if you are the one of making photos and videos of skies, takeoffs and landings. Boeing will begin to mount panoramic windows on its planes, although not for all flights.
The design of Skyview Panoramic, which is what is called this window rather larger than the usual, comes from the hand of Fokker Technologies and will be part of new or retired aircraft from 2018. But not all lines will have this reform or novelty: panoramic views will be only for certain passengers.
More than a meter of window, but only for the chosen ones
The measurements of Skyview Panoramic are 137 x 46 centimeters, which would be equivalent to merging three of the windows that a Boeing 737, being the largest window for aircraft so far. In this way there will be no problem to be hypnotized by the landscapes of clouds and sun at 30,000 feet or to make our catches without disturbing other passengers (when the usual window is between two seats).
Of course, we have to stop dreaming if we are not corporate jet passengers like BBJ (BBJ, BBJ 2, BBJ MAX range) or private jets, because Skyview Panoramic will not reach commercial planes. In fact in the model BBJ MAX 7 we already see it like option (they are planes that can be customized).
This is, beyond the aesthetics or the entertainment of the traveler, a small achievement at a structural level since the size of the windows of the airplanes is due in part to its structure and materials by the pressure. So far the only thing that had differentiated the company in question from windows was with the model 787 Dreamliner, whose windows are larger than all other aircraft but not along, but in height.
