You can also control (some of) your services
As revealed its creators, Nextcloud " puts you at the controls " of your data : the idea is to dispense with service providers such as Google, Dropbox or Microsoft with Skype to make those services available in this home server that just have connect to our local area network to have it accessible wherever we go.
One of the secrets of the solution is the use of Ubuntu Snappy Core, which according to the developers " enables the device to act as a gateway to the Internet of Things at home, adding features and control of other devices and connecting them with its owner while keeping the user safe through automatic security updates.
The services available are therefore extensible through the use of this distribution and Snaps system, although there are notable absences as a mail server, something that is not trivial to solve in own domestic environments that make us not having to rely on gmail and the like.
Nextcloud handles provide a host-based Apache and MySQL from them offer other services components. The Box begins Nextcloud be sold next October 7, 2016, and will do so at a price of 70 euros.
